In other countries, the dedication of military personnel are being recognized in different ways. Aside from honoring their courageous acts and contributions every 11th of November, these people are also receiving benefits from their own government. The US Department of Veterans Affairs is a government department that provides patient care and national benefits to the US veterans and their immediate families ,too. Rendering Our Veterans Benefits They Ought to Have posted by discounts4vets
Posted on Tue Jun 10, 2008 05:48:04
Time really flies and the toughness, strong eyesight and efficiency to hold a gun have all been things of the history. However, the courageousness and the memories of being in a war will always remain in their soul. Our veterans - what happens next after they have risked their lives? Our country's veterans have been into various wars in fighting for a cause. Now that they have reached their lives' turning point, are they are really cared of? Minus the strength as well as the clear vista and memory that has been robbed by their age, these once armored and strong service personnel are now waiting for the sunset calmly in their chairs. The government performs a vital task in the well-being and security of our veterans. Variety of benefit programs and decrees have been made to secure their rights and support their significant needs. These benefits also cover the immediate family and dependents of the veterans, of which varies from different states. These benefits include money-support on education, assistance on home loans, life insurance as well as standard compensation and pension and vocational rehabilitation. The benefits don't only limit as long as the retired army is living, it still endures by providing burial and funeral benefits, thus providing them with a decent and well-deserved last recognition for their incomparable service for their sworn duty. Aside from the government, there are also numerous civic groups and private associations that offer privilege programs and benefits to the country's armed forces. All of these monetary related services, free and with pay is something that our veterans are thanked for because it's giving them a chance to live a much better life after the wars. Nevertheless, that shouldn't end us from providing them attention and love? each day. Life is not like an old gun that when polished again can immediately recuperate its efficiency to shot upright. It is not also like time that will continuously tick after a 24-hour journey. The life of these people, just like ours is just borrowed from the ALMIGHTY, only they have spent it in a world of explosion and painful death rows. Let us all be reminded of their unwavering service and the generous love of their loved ones. They have been a part of our lives, in one way or another so it is constantly been a good thing to celebrate life with them not just every 11th of November but everyday and up to their last sunset. Let them feel the priceless attention so they will not be waving their hands with a weary heart when it is time to leave.

A Call for Nationwide Observance posted by discounts4vets
Posted on Sat May 31, 2008 06:24:24
Every last Monday of May, the entire U.S.A is observing the Memorial Day. It was formerly recognized as the Decoration Day wherein the people of America honor the armed service men and women who died to their country. The very first Memorial Day was declared to honor the Union soldiers who risked their lives throughout the American Civil War. It was then magnified to add those service personnel who died in the time of their duty in any war or military action after the World War I (WWI). The national tribute occurs at 3PM, Eastern Time. During this day, people are going to the churchyards and mausoleums to pray and remember their soldiers. This is also a perfect time for gatherings and sporting happenings as it marks the unofficial start of the summer season. Aside from that, many organizations are also holding associated events where political and civic leaders are delivering dialogues to the community. This year's Memorial Day happens on the 26th of May. Even though there are several military areas like the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) are fighting to fix its date on May 30, the celebration will still go on this year. Many VIPs such as 2008's electoral candidates are expected to share their thoughts and emotions for this day via their privilege dialogues and gathering engagements. A call for a true and heartfelt observance of this day is echoing from our hearts and most especially from the family of these heroes. Let us halt for a moment and relive the moments of our brothers and sisters who have undoubtedly given their lives in order to make us survive. Our veterans, even though they have been freed from deaths during their service era should be also given with importance, care and love. Gone are the times of endless war for them but the real fight to live have not been ended. Make this day not just for the deceased who have been heroes for their loved ones and this country but also a day for each one of us who are hoping for a peaceful and worthwhile humanity.
